Septic Systems
Water Environment Services (WES), a department of Clackamas County, issues all septic system permits within unincorporated areas of Clackamas County.
The on-site sewage disposal program is designed to provide sewage treatment
and disposal for homes not served by a community sewer system. Drainfields
must be properly designed and installed for two reasons:
1) To protect the ground water aquifer from sewage contamination, and
2) To protect the health of the populace by properly treating and disposing
of human waste.
Improper disposal of sewage waste cause many diseases in humans.
