Persons using referral agencies on this list should use safe consumer practices such as checking references and contacting relevant regulatory agencies, professional associations, the Better Business Bureau (503) 226-3981, and the Financial Fraud unit of the Oregon Department of Justice Services (503) 229-5576.

Consumers are advised:

1. To interview potential providers in advance of placement; 
2. Read the proposed contract or service agreement thoroughly and/or have an attorney review the document before signing it.
3. Visit any potential adult care placement providers before making a final decision
