Meet & Greet
Tuesday Evening • April 24, 2012

Join your colleagues at the Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill located in the Red Lion as we welcome you to the 13th Annual Summit. Enjoy the casual atmosphere and the majestic view of the Columbia River. Appetizers and a no-host bar will be available from 5 to 8 p.m.


Summit 5k Run & Walk
Wednesday Evening • April 25, 2012

Join your colleagues for an enjoyable celebration of movement in the 2nd Annual Summit 5k Run & Walk. Walk, crawl, roll or move however you want while enjoying beautiful views of the Columbia River.

Entry fee is $5 -- with 100% of the proceeds going to support scholarships for the 2013 Summit!  Invite your friends, family, neighbors or co-workers to participate.  Bibs will be required and will be handed out at the run/walk.

The Summit 5K will not be consuming piles of cups and leaving behind any garbage for this event.  If you need lots of water while you work out, carry the bottle with you. Otherwise, drink some water at the end.

The race will begin and end at the Red Lion Hotel on the River, boardwalk behind hotel.

Pub Crawl
Thursday Evening • April 26, 2012

Thursday night is the traditional Pub Crawl. Join us for free bus transportation to some of Portland’s famous microbreweries to taste local brews and meet new colleagues.

The first bus will leave promptly at 5:45 p.m. Thursday for downtown Portland, and the second bus at 7:00 p.m., from outside the Grand Ballroom entrance to the Red Lion Hotel on the River.  Buses will be returning to the hotel beginning at 8:15 p.m., and again at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. 

Sign-up is available at the Information Table, Lower Level Foyer, on the first day of the Summit. Spaces on the buses go quickly, so don’t forget to reserve yours!


Self-Defense Basics

5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Students will be taught basic but extremely effective skills to counter attacks from every angle -- including ground attacks by certified self-defense instructors, Tony and Germaine Kollias. These skills they will teach are derived from Krav Maga -- the Israeli military fighting technique -- and have been proven in combat. With these new skills, students will gain the confidence they need to survive instead of being victimized. No prior experience is required, and the class is open to all Summit attendees.
Class limited to 12 participants. You will need to sign-up to participate at the Summit Information Table in the Lower Level Foyer of the Red Lion Hotel on the River.

Tony Kollias is a certified instructor in PPCT (pressure point control technology) defensive tactics system, DPSST defensive tactics, Confrontational Simulation, Use of Force, Integrated Use of Force, ASP Baton, Oleoresin Capsicum and has many years of martial arts experience. He has trained hundreds of law enforcement officers from many different agencies in Oregon; has trained Military Police in the US and overseas; developed and implemented Tigard Police Departments current defensive tactics program, and developed and implemented CCSO SWAT's current defensive tactics program; and has spent the last 3 years teaching self-defense to women of all ages.

Germaine Kollias has won the DPSST Defensive Tactics award, and is a certified instructor in DPSST defensive tactics, Confrontational Simulation, Use of Force, Integrated Use of Force, ASP Baton and Oleoresin Capsicum. She has trained hundreds of law enforcement officers from many different agencies in Oregon; developed and implemented Hillsboro Police Departments current defensive tactics program and has spent the last 3 years teaching self-defense to women of all ages.
