Following is a list of community based programs which serve juveniles and their families. Being listed does not constitute an endorsement. The narrative description following the agency title was provided by each respective agency.

The Boys and Girls Aid Society of Oregon
Family Strengths: Targeting middle school age youth and their families. Providing an average of ninety days in-home counseling, building individual family strengths. Call 503-222-9661 for more information.

Clackamas County Family Court Service
Among other services the Clackamas County Family Court Service provides Youth and Family Mediation. Designed for parents and youth who need help sorting through and addressing family issues at home and at school. Mediators include one adult and one youth who help keep communication between the family positive and clear, searching for a workable and fair solution. Issues addressed include: violence, running away, courts and lawyers, ignoring the problem, and not communicating. Call 655-8415 for more information.

Clackamas County Behavioral Health Center
You and your youth will meet with an Adolescent Alcohol & Drug Treatment Specialist for an initial assessment; this generally is an hour appointment. Based on the assessment, the most appropriate level of education or treatment will be offered. The Education Program is a series of six groups focusing on basic alcohol and drug education, the laws concerning use, affects of use on the person, family and school. Treatment consists of group therapy, individual and family therapy.

Clackamas Addiction Treatment Services has offices in downtown Oregon City, Estacada, Sandy, Canby and Milwaukie.

Alcohol & Drug Treatment/Education services are geared toward any level of drug or alcohol involvement. The cost for Education is $90. The cost of Treatment is based on a sliding fee scale, eligible for most insurance and Oregon Health Plan providers.

The Dougy Center
Imagine what it must be like for a child who suffers the loss of a parent, a brother, a sister. Who can they talk to? Their friends shy away because they don't know what to say. It's hard to talk to the surviving parent because they're already grieving. How do they cope with a death in their family? In Portland, Oregon, they can come to The Dougy Center, a safe and loving place where kids take care of kids. For more information call 503-775-5683. The Inn
A homeless youth program. The Inn provides services to displaced youth ages 16-19 in Clackamas County who are without a home resource, are unable to receive services from Services to Children and Families and are interested in living an independent lifestyle. The Inn focuses on education, employment, shelter or housing options, basic needs and social networking. For more information call 777-2928.

Kids in Crisis
For families having parent/youth conflict, running away or in need of shelter. This service is available 24 hours a day. To access this program please contact the Clackamas County Crisis Intervention Services at (503) 655-8401.

Mainstream Youth Program
This is a group (15-25) education session done in two parts. The first is a 3 hour learning and participation time. The second session is a one-on-one follow-up with a counselor. This is used as an assessment time to determine if there are other drug or alcohol related issues that need to be looked at. The program is located in S.E. Portland. The Mainstream Youth Program is geared toward youth in the early experimentation stages with alcohol and drugs. The cost is $35. For further information call 503-234-3400

Parents Anonymous
Parents Anonymous is offering support groups for parents who are experiencing difficulties and stress in their parenting. Structured, nurturing children's program is provided while the parents meet together. A choice of groups is offered: Every Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in Gladstone or every Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00PM in Oregon City. Parents Anonymous also offers a Spanish speaking parent support group in Oregon City that meets on Fridays from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. All programs are free, confidential, immediate and accessible. Parrott Creek Family Services
Uses a blend of counseling and education to assist families managing issues of loss through divorce, separation, and death; school difficulties; child and adolescent development; depression; conflict; abuse; impact of chemical dependency; parenting skills; and a multitude of other influences which affect today's families. Services available include: a) family and individual counseling, b) coordination with schools, c) parent support group, d) anger management Group, e) girls together group, f) parenting the child with attention deficit disorder. "THEFT TALK" Counseling Service
A nonprofit organization which specializes in counseling theft offenders. "THEFT TALK" is used as a prevention program, diversion program as a condition of the juvenile department's, or juvenile court's, reformation plan. "THEFT TALK's" mission is to change the way people think about stealing. Programs include: a) Young Offender Program, ages 9-11; b) Juvenile Offender Program, ages 12-17; c) StopWatch, a felony theft program for juveniles; d) Temper Talk, anger management; e) Adult Offender Program. Tough Love
A self-help program for parents troubled by teenage behavior. Tough love is a support group, not a therapy group. It is a parent support group. Tough Love says it has a "process for change" that parents can use as a guide.
