Puppy Kindergarten
Puppies can be as challenging as they are cute!
- Are you having house training problems?
- Is your pup chewing everything?
- Is out-of-control-behavior starting to take the joy out of having a pup?
- Training can be fun for both you and your puppy;
- Training does not need to take over your life ~ you can have a well-behaved dog in minutes a day!
Raise your puppy proactively and learn how to easily prevent problems - and how to deal with those that crop up!
We now offer Puppy Kindergarten twice each week - Wednesday evening and Saturday morning!
Your paid registration reserves your spot in class.
Check www.clackamasdogs.org/calendar.html for confirmation of class days (we occasionally will skip a Saturday).
My New Dog: Helping Families Bond
One of the challenges of adoption is helping our families and our new dogs make all of the transitions needed to become a loving family. We know that many of the reasons that adopted dogs are returned to rescues and shelters are because that transition can be hard and frustrating.
We are here to help. We are replacing our 4 weeks to family classes with an opportunity for you to get more targeted help for the issues you and your newly adopted dog are experiencing. We can help with house training, walking on lead, crate training, learning new expectations (the dog that is).
My New Dog classes are scheduled twice each month; the first Friday from 7-8pm and the third Saturday from 1-2pm.
Please watch our website calendar for the most up-to-date scheduling.
There is no charge for “My New Dog” classes (of course, donations are always appreciated).
4 Skills Club
Sometimes less is more; your dog needs some training, but you don't have time for a full 8 week session. Or maybe your dog really only needs some work in one or two areas to be perfect. Our 4 Skills Club is the answer. Each month we offer the following schedule of topics:

- Second Monday of the month - Wait (teaching the ultimate practical skill)
- Third Monday of the month - Who's Walking Whom? (we don't need to explain this one!)
- Fourth Monday of the month - Come Here! (the ultimate practical and safety skill)
Sign up for one class, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, or even the full meal deal - 12 weeks! You decide which topics to attend; stick with just one, two, skip a month - whatever works!

Treibball
Treibball is a new way to play with your dog! It’s a competitive sport for dogs of all ages and sizes–it promotes better teamwork and communication between dog and handler. It’s great fun for any energetic dog who works well off-leash and needs a job, or any dog who likes to herd and doesn’t have sheep!
If you haven’t seen the game in action yet, watch the videos on our American Treibball YouTube channel!
Treibball began in Germany to give their energetic dogs some much needed mental and physical stimulation.
We think it’s a great game–perfect for American dogs and their owners, too! It’s fun for any dog that loves to play chase games, to herd or just use their amazing, problem-solving ability. Competing in Agility takes special equipment, the ability to run with your dog and direct him through each obstacle. Treibball promotes the same kind of teamwork and communication, but does not put any physical stress on the handler. It also builds confidence for the shy dog, and helps reactive dogs with impulse control.
Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30pm
6 weeks - $100Control Unleashed
Is your dog:
- Easily distracted?
- Mildly to moderately reactive or easily aroused?
- Anxious, stressed, or shut down?
- Unable to control their impulses when excited?
- Uncomfortable or unable to work around other dogs?
- A potential competitor in any dog sport?
Then Control Unleashed is for you!
Control Unleashed is a unique program that will teach you and your dog how to relax, focus, and work reliably in either stimulating or stressful situations. You and your dog will learn how to get the most out of any dog class you attend, or even life "out-and-about", by giving you both the tools to focus, feel confident, and set up for success. This class is a great starting-point for any dog who may someday compete in agility, freestyle, rally, or other dog sport, or for the dog who wants to be “on-the go!”
You will learn how to read your dog's behavior, help your dog relax and stay calm by giving him new ways to respond in exciting or stressful situations, and build self-control and focus while forging a stronger, deeper connection personal to you and your dog.
Control Unleashed classes are small in size, with plenty of safe space for each dog and handler team to work and learn. The classes emphasize working at the level each team is ready for, with lots of individual attention.
This course is based on the book Control Unleashed, Creating a Focused and Confident Dog by Leslie McDevitt. A copy of the book is required for attendance in this course.
Control Unleashed classes are 90 minutes, and run for 7 weeks; check our calendar for start date.
$150 for the 7 week course.
