John S. Foote

John S. Foote has been the District Attorney in Clackamas County, Oregon since January 2001. He also served previously as Clackamas County District Attorney in 1995-97.

Mr. Foote is a graduate of Lewis and Clark, Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon. He previously served as Deputy Director and Inspector General of the Oregon Department of Corrections; serves on a variety of public and private boards including Past President of the Oregon District Attorney’s Association, Past President of the Clackamas County Bar Association, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Clackamas County Children’s Center for sexually abused children, former Chair of the Board of Directors of Parrott Creek Child and Family Services for at risk youth, former Chair of Clackamas County Public Safety Coordinating Council, Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, and Member of the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates.

Mr. Foote has been a leader in several innovative justice initiatives including the Clackamas County Methamphetamine Enforcement Team, the Overland Park Community Prosecution Program, the Clackamas County Mental Health Court, the Clackamas County Community Court, and the Clackamas County Domestic Violence Emergency Response Team.
