Developmental Disabilities

Clackamas County has a broad array of services to meet the needs of citizens with developmental disabilities living in our community and/or returning to our community from institutional settings. Services are available for both children and adults.

Case management staff assist eligible families and individuals with selecting, obtaining and utilizing resources and services to meet their needs. Some of these services include vocational placement, residential placement, financial assistance, medical assistance, emergency and crisis services, transportation, support services and respite care.

Clackamas County Behavioral Health Services also contracts with a variety of non-profit agencies for services directly provided to people with developmental disabilities including:

  • Employment and alternatives to employment, such as work activity centers, supported employment and individually designed work
  • 24-hour residential services in group homes and apartment settings where training, supervision and support services are offered
  • Adult foster care in a private home which provides primary care and support for one to five adults
  • In-home support services
