Commissioner Charlotte Lehan

Charlotte LehanCharlotte Lehan was elected to the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners in November 2008. Her family has called Clackamas County home since the Zumwalts and Grahams crossed the Oregon Trail in the 1850s.   

As Mayor of Wilsonville for the past 12 years, Lehan oversaw tremendous economic and population growth in a city that still retains its reputation for high standards in environmental protection and community livability.

Lehan’s education includes an associate’s degree in early childhood education from Portland Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in human development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. She is a graduate of the Pacific Program for State Local Government and Nonprofit Executives at the University of Oregon, and has completed graduate work in urban geography at Portland State University. 

Prior to becoming Mayor of Wilsonville, Lehan served on the City Council for six years and has served on numerous local and regional committees and task forces.

She served as the representative of the Small Cities of Clackamas County at the Metro Policy Advisory Committee (MPAC) and the Urban/Rural Reserves Steering Committee. She has been part of the Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation delegation to Washington, DC for the last five years.

Lehan’s honors include Distinguished Leadership by an Elected Official Award, Oregon Community Trees Citizen Volunteer Award, Coalition for a Livable Future Regional Livability Award, 1000 Friends of Oregon Elected Official of the Year, and Rotary Club of Wilsonville First Citizen.

Her experience in successfully maintaining high standards for infrastructure, environmental protection and livability while managing rapid growth as Mayor of Wilsonville will be valuable to Clackamas County.
