After introductions, a continued discussion of Green Spaces was held. Discussion items were:
- Interconnection issues for trails
- Expansion of trails
- Development issues
- Adding green spaces
- Local Share, trail links and trail development
- Trail connections outside of Metro
- Trolley Trail
- Purchase of property in greenway
- Joint interests with other cities
- Identification of new areas
- Park expansions
- Underserved areas
- Improvements to existing areas
The minutes of the February 2, 2006 meeting were adopted unanimously with one correction that being a typo “Myron Martwick – OCWD” changed to “Myron Martwick – OLWD.”
Library System Study
Nancy Newton, Clackamas County, began an informal discussion of the Library Consultant’s report. Nancy provided the group with a synopsis of the report’s recommendations. Dialog during this discussion included:
- Short Term/Long Term/Medium Term Recommendations
- LINCC operations & technical needs support
- Municipalities providing facilities
- Municipalities’ support
- Funding options & dwindling funding concerns
- Model suggestions
- Teaming with other counties
- Library Network opinions of report data
- Locations of persons who use the libraries
- Library buildings and facilities and the life of existing libraries vs. the investments
- Putting together quality campaigns to support libraries
- Looking toward the future is key
Action items re: Library Study
- Schedule special C-4 and Library Network Board meeting
- Cities and LNIB to review the report and provide recommendations by month end
- Addendums to the report by month end
- Addendums will include interested party comments
- Place the maps on the web link by March 10th
- Provide members with a web link for Library Study
- Consultant to attend April 6th C-4 Meeting for discussions
Administrative Support
The group discussion included:
- Is there an interest from cities to support per capita for administrative assistance to C-4?
- Members to send an email to City Managers requesting their opinions on funding administrative support to the committee
- Members were asked to update their current email addresses
- Voting members were asked to update their alternate’s information
- Update information should be emailed to cherylcor@co.clackamas.or.us
It was suggested that the Work Plan Schedule be placed on the web site.
Next Clackamas Cities Dinner is March 23rd, 2006 in Wilsonville – Damascus, Happy Valley, Special Districts
Next C-4 Meeting is scheduled for April 6, 2006
