Payment Options
Payments must be delivered, postmarked or transmitted by private express carrier on or before the due date to receive any discount available and avoid interest. If the due date falls on a weekend or a legal holiday, the due date is extended through the next business day.
Please send only a check or money order, DO NOT mail cash. Your cancelled check is proof of payment. Our cashiers are unable to process credit or debit cards for payment of property taxes. If you wish to pay taxes using a credit or debit card, please go to Online Payment for information and access.
Discounts and Payment Schedule
CHOOSE ONE of the following to avoid interest charges and receive any applicable discount
- Full Payment -- Receive a three percent (3%) discount on the current year, as shown on your tax statement if full payment is postmarked by November 15th.
- 2/3 Payment -- Receive a two percent (2%) discount on the current year, as shown on your tax statement if 2/3 payment is postmarked by November 15th. Pay the final 1/3 by the following May 15th.
- 1/3 Payment -- No discount is allowed. Pay one-third by November 15th, followed by another 1/3 payment by February 15th. Pay the final 1/3 balance by May 15th.
For those that choose one of the installment options, we will mail reminder notices in February and May.
Payment dates for 2009-10: November 16, 2009, February 16, 2010, and May 17, 2010
Interest
Interest will be charged on any payment made after the installment due date for the schedule you choose. The rate of interest is determined by Oregon statute which is 16% annually or 1.333% monthly or a fraction of a month until paid. If an account is delinquent, additional interest accrues on the 16th of each month.
Returned checks may lose the discount.
Mail your payment in the windowed envelope provided in your tax statement.
Please remember to sign your check and apply the proper postage to the envelope.
